Everyone has their own interpretation of what the verses mean...this is my understanding of them

Amos 5:8

Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:

An amazing verse! We have a great God that created all this and still has mercy and compassion for us. Consider this and thank Him often.

2 Peter 3:9

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

God is patient with us and wants us to turn from our sins. Don't wait untill it's too late. Start trying to to live your life for Him today. It's a long road with many obstacles to overcome.

However you must remember that He will not put a stumbling block in front of us that we can't jump over.

Isaiah 65:24

And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

I wait for that day! Praise God!

John 17:8

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Jesus gave to us what the Father gave him. We need to really listen to what Jesus taught and apply it in our everyday life. We try and make the Bible say what we want it to by twisting or misrepresenting the original intent. Try reading it for what it says not what we want it to say. I believe that our life would be much more complete.

Proverbs 30:5

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Read what God has said and live for those words. Trust in Him and believe that He will do what He says.

Luke 18:20

Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Some people mistakenly believe that the commandments of the Old Testament were abolished. However, Jesus refers to them in the verse above.

Psalm 91:2

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

In times of trouble and despair, theses words are comforting.
