Deuteronomy 28:9
The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

We don't have free reign to do as we please. We should follow God's instructions out of our love and respect. If we live a life that pleases Him, he will keep His promises to us.

These holy people the Lord shall establish are not confined to an ethnic group, physical location, location of origin, or place of worship. It is those that love the Lord above all else.
